Powerwall 3P stores 13.5 kWh and supplies up to 15 kW continuously at 25°C or cooler with enough solar, or up to 11.5 kW without solar. Tesla lists a one-second peak of 21 kW for three-phase loads. Up to three Powerwall 3 Expansion units add 13.5 kWh each.
No. Tesla says Powerwall 3P can't be combined with Powerwall 2 or Powerwall 3 units. A Powerwall 3P system grows with Powerwall 3 Expansion units or more Powerwall 3P units, up to 94.5 kWh in total.
No. Tesla's installation manual says Powerwall 3P units are mounted side by side. Up to three Expansion units can stack behind the first Powerwall 3P on the floor, or hang on the wall next to it.
Up to four Powerwall 3P units on one Backup Gateway 2, plus up to three Expansion units on the first Powerwall 3P. That comes to up to 60 kW of power and 94.5 kWh of storage.
Not on panels wired straight into Powerwall 3P. Tesla's installation manual says panel optimisers on that solar can cause nuisance tripping. They can stay on solar that runs through its own inverter.
Yes. Tesla says Powerwall 3P works with all major solar inverter brands and a range of existing system sizes. Powerwall 3P also has four built-in solar inputs that take up to 20.4 kWp of new panels. Panel optimisers can't go on panels wired straight into those inputs.
Yes. Tesla says Powerwall 3P needs a Gateway for monitoring and backup. The Backup Gateway 2 detects a grid outage, disconnects your home from the grid and switches it to battery power.
Yes. Tesla Home comes standard with every Powerwall 3P. It is Tesla's energy management software, and it decides when your home draws from solar, Powerwall or the grid. You set your energy goal and how much charge to keep for outages in the Tesla app.
Yes. Tesla's Wall Connector supports single-phase and three-phase power and works with most EVs that use a Type 2 connector. You can schedule charging and check its status in the Tesla app.
Tesla covers Powerwall 3P with a 10-year warranty with full labour and hardware coverage, the same period as Powerwall 3. Sunstak registers your system with Tesla at commissioning, and Tesla activates your warranty on registration.
