$20K Low interest loans Sustainable Household Scheme

The ACT Government is providing up to $20,000 at 3% interest over a 10-year loan period for installations of energy-efficient products (Tesla Powerwall, Hot Water Heat Pumps (HWHP), Airconditioning)

  • You have up to 10 years to repay it.

  • 3% interest and no upfront or ongoing costs or fees. ​

  • Loans are facilitated by Brighte.

  • You can access the loan multiple times for eligible purchases.

  • The loan begins after the system is installed.

Eligibility

  • The UV of the property must be at or below $750,000 , for:  freestanding houses and non-titled dual occupancies (non-unit titled dwellings); and  townhouses and unit titled dual occupancies (stand-alone unit titled dwellings) based on the unit entitlement percentage. UV eligibility for product categories A, B and D - Unit titled multi-storey apartments For unit titled multi‑storey apartment

Home Energy Support Rebate (Pensioner and Veterans)

Australian Pensioner Concession and Veterans’ Affairs Gold Card holders may be able to get rebates for sustainable home upgrades.

  • Category A products​ rebate of up to $2,500​

    • Solar panel (PV) energy systems.

  • Category B products​ rebate of up to $2,500​

    • Reverse cycle heating and cooling, hot water heat pumps (HWHP), electric stove tops and ovens.​

To access this rebate: ​

  • Australian Government Pensioner Concession Card or  

  • Department of Veterans Affairs Gold Card or

  • Australian Government Health Care Card

  • Owns & occupies the home (ACT resident) in which the eligible product will be installed  ​

  • Has attended a free Everyday Climate Choices workshop delivered by the ACT Government 

  • have an Unimproved Value (UV) at or below:

    • $750,000 at the time of application in any year from 2022 for freestanding homes/units and dual occupancies. For unit titled freestanding properties this is based on the unit entitlement percentage.

    • $300,000 in any year from 2022 for unit titled multi-story apartments.

Both property requirements and product requirements apply

  • For solar customers accessing this rebate, in most cases the system size will be limited to 6.6kW. Special exemptions can apply for larger systems if you have high energy use at the property.

  • If the customer is accessing the rebate & the ACT SHS Loan, the ACT SHS Loan will be capped at $10K.

$10K Energy Rebate for Whitlam

You’ll need to prove you have built your home in line with the mandatory requirements outlined in the eligibility guidelines for your Stage of Whitlam.

Your home will need to be built with these all-electric, energy efficient inclusions listed and illustrated below:

  • Choose a light coloured roof

  • Have a 5kW solar PV system (minimum)

  • Choose an energy efficient hot water system

  • Invest in home energy monitoring and/or management system

  • Put in electric vehicle charging

  • All requirements are completed

  • Supporting documentation is submitted

$7K Energy Rebate for Jacka

The Home Energy Rebate (Energy Rebate) will encourage building choices that help reduce energy consumption and your reliance on fossil fuels. A rebate of $7,000 is available.

Your home will need to be built with these all-electric, energy efficient inclusions listed below:

  • Make your roof cool

  • Generate your own electricity

  • Invest in energy demand management

  • Choose an energy-efficient hot water system

  • Future proof for Electric Vehicle (EV) charging

Eligibility​ What is the process?

Buyers or Eligible First Transferees in Jacka will be eligible for the Energy or Landscape Rebate if:

  1. The requirements are met
    All mandatory requirements listed in this document for the specific rebate are met when you build your home and garden.

  2. Evidence is collected
    All required certificates, invoices and photos are collected, as outlined in this document.

  3. Evidence is included
    All supporting information and evidence is attached to your online application within the timeframe.

  4. In-person inspection of front yard
    For Landscape Rebates only, an on-site inspection of your front garden will be completed before the rebate is paid to you.
