Claim the Tesla rebate and the new federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program
Canberra homeowners can now access generous support to install a Tesla Powerwall or Powerwall Expansion Pack. The Tesla rebate provides up to $1,500 (Visa Credit Card) back on eligible installations and the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program introduces further savings when you add storage to your home energy system.

How the Tesla Powerwall rebate works
Tesla is offering a rebate for homes that install Powerwall 3 or a Powerwall 3 Expansion Pack.

Up to $1,500 per home
Order and installation window
Orders placed between 6 November 2025 and 31 March 2026
Installation must be completed and registered between 1 January 2026 and 30 September 2026
How you receive the rebate
Tesla sends a Virtual Visa Reward Card once your installation is registered and verified.
Homeowners can claim the Tesla rebate and the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program on the same installation.

How much you can receive from the federal battery rebate plus the Tesla Powerwall rebate
Each Powerwall 3 can support up to three Expansion Packs. The federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program provides a strong rebate based on the total usable storage added to your home. On top of this, Tesla offers a rebate for up to two eligible units which can be any combination of Powerwall 3 or Expansion Packs.
