Every price from $14,000 to $16,000 is for a Powerwall 3 we add to your existing solar on a single phase home, and includes:
Your battery adds new circuits to your meter box. At the site visit, an Energy Geek checks how much room your meter box has and where your battery will go.
If your meter box has room and there's a clear wall beside it, your price sits near $14,000. The more work your meter box and battery location need, the closer you get to $16,000, and an enlargement or a long cable run takes you past it.

An Expansion Pack is $9,250, with the Tesla cable and a stacking or wall-mount kit included. A second Powerwall 3 is $11,950 before the federal discount, and adds its own inverter as well as storage. When either goes in with another battery, we take $1,000 off.

A Powerwall 3 costs more than most home batteries. You're paying for Tesla's track record and a ten year warranty with unlimited cycles for everyday solar storage and backup. You also get the Tesla app, which shows how many hours of power you have left in a blackout.
If you plan to move in two or three years, a less expensive battery can make more sense. If you're staying for the long term, or you already drive a Tesla, Powerwall tends to be the better fit.
