Your battery adds new circuits to your meter box. At the site visit, an Energy Geek checks how much room your meter box has and where your battery will go. On site, not on the phone.
If your meter box has room and there's a clear wall beside it, your price sits near $14,000. The more work your meter box and battery location need, the closer you get to $16,000, and an enlargement or a long cable run takes you past it.

An Expansion Pack is $9,250, with the Tesla cable and a stacking or wall-mount kit included. A second Powerwall 3 is $11,950 before the federal discount, and adds its own inverter as well as storage. When either goes in with another battery, we take $1,000 off.

Three things turn up in review after review. The quote gets explained, and more than one person says they were talked out of spending more.
