GoodWe ESA Series

The ESA Series is an all-in-one solar and battery system. The inverter sits in the top module and the battery stacks underneath it, so you can start at the size your house needs today and add to it when that changes.

Why we fit the ESA

A white GoodWe battery, an inverter head over three battery modules on feet, standing against the white rendered wall of a house beside a potted palm, with a flagstone driveway and an open garage behind it

Arrives as one stack

Inverter, battery and backup switching come pre-wired, so one unit goes on your wall.

Add to it later

Your next module drops onto the one below it on a die-cast frame, and a blind-mate connector makes the electrical join as it lands.

Your house stays on

In an outage the whole house moves onto the battery in under 4 ms, through a 63 A bypass inside the unit.

Sized to your house

What your house draws overnight decides the size of the battery. That number moves: an EV in the driveway, a heat pump, one more person home during the day. The ESA follows it in two ways.

  • Sized in 8 kWh steps, from two modules to six.

Every battery module holds 8 kWh usable and a column takes up to six of them, so you land near what your house actually draws overnight instead of the nearest fixed battery above it.

  • Adding an EV or a heat pump? Add a module underneath.

A column takes more modules, up to 48 kWh. An electric car or a flat in the back yard is one more module below the ones already there, on the same system, with nothing new beside it on the wall. Ask for a quote and we will size it against what your house actually uses.

Solar battery rebate

This is the Cheaper Home Batteries discount, worked out for four GoodWe stacks. An accredited retailer takes it off your purchase price on the day, so there is nothing to claim back afterwards. It is worth less per kWh as the battery gets bigger, and the rate steps down every six months until 2030.

GoodWe ESA specs, single phase and three phase

The single-phase GoodWe ESA Series is an all-in-one: the inverter sits in the top module and 8.0 kWh usable battery modules go underneath it, up to 48 kWh in one column. Backup runs through a 63 A bypass inside the unit, so no gateway is mounted beside it on your wall, and the changeover measures under 4 ms. The three-phase ESA is the same idea on a three-phase supply: 5 to 30 kVA, the same 8.0 kWh module, and up to 60 kW of DC solar. Every capacity on this page is usable capacity, which is the figure your house spends and the figure the federal discount is worked out from.
