How the federal battery discount works
The Cheaper Home Batteries Program reduces the upfront cost of an eligible battery. We calculate the discount and include it in your quote, so there’s no separate claim afterwards.
The amount depends on your battery’s usable capacity, installation date and certificate value. Larger batteries receive a smaller discount per additional kWh, and rates reduce over time.
