Our experience with government energy programs

We’ve helped hundreds of households access government support for energy upgrades. That experience brings careful coordination, documentation and compliance to our commercial projects.

ACT Sustainable Household Scheme
550 participants · Approximately $6 million in support
ACT NextGen Battery Rebate
247 participants · Approximately $1 million in support
Cheaper Home Battery Program
More than $2 million in battery certificate discounts These figures reflect our work through each program, rather than the support available to an individual household.

These are delivery totals, and not current rebate rates. Figures and rates as at July 2025.

We did not encounter any administrative issues and Sunstak complied with the conditions of their Deed of Grant with the ACT Government.

How we work

From your first energy bill to switching on your system, we guide you through every step.

  1. A cyan sign board standing on a driveway, lettered sunstak above the words THIS HOUSE IS POWERED BY SUNSTAK with the address sunstak.com.au along the bottom, the front of a white car in the left foreground and timber steps with two orange traffic cones behind it

    Share your energy bills

Send us a summer bill and a winter bill, and tell us when you use the most energy. This helps us design around your household.

  2. Two men reaching to shake hands on the front path of a brick house with solar panels on its roof, one of them in a dark t-shirt carrying a circular cyan mark, while a woman stands in the open front doorway behind them

    Talk to an Energy Geek

During a home visit or phone consultation, we discuss your goals and review your roof, switchboard and meter.

  3. Two people at a desk in an office, one pointing at a wide monitor showing an aerial view of a house with a solar panel layout drawn on its roof

    See your system design

Our engineer designs your system in house. You’ll see where the equipment will go and understand why it suits your home.

  4. A man at a timber desk holding a telephone handset to his ear, two monitors in front of him showing an aerial view of rooftops and a bar chart, beside a keyboard, an open notebook and a mug

    Review your quote

Your quote clearly lists equipment, model numbers, inclusions and exclusions. Take your time to review it. We only order once you approve.

  5. A person standing on a tiled roof holding a large solar panel above their head against a blue sky, with another person's hand reaching up from the gutter below

    Get ready for installation

We explain what to expect on the day, including any planned power interruptions and how long they should last.

  6. A single-storey timber-clad house on a dry rural block at golden hour, its pitched metal roof covered by a full array of solar panels, a white battery standing against the timber wall beside a car charger with its cable coiled, a dark grey car parked on the gravel driveway and gum trees and low hills behind

    Enjoy ongoing support

We get your system running and set up your monitoring app. For questions, service or warranty help, the same team is here after installation.

  • Commercial rooftop solar Wanniassa ACT

    A school hall in Wanniassa

A school roof is a set-out problem with a deadline attached. We planned, delivered and commissioned the array inside the break before the new term. Somebody else coordinated the site. 40 kW of panels onto one long hall roof, in five days, with six people on it.

Thank you for delivering this project before the start of a new school term

  • Commercial solar and battery Lyneham ACT

    A temple in Lyneham

Community members referred the temple, worried about its power bills. The complex is large and draughty, and expensive to heat. 20 kW of solar and a 20 kWh battery, with the meter board upgraded to carry it. The battery holds the demand peak down, which a commercial tariff charges separately from the energy.

The Abbot is very pleased and wishes to pass on his appreciation and support to get this project delivered
