The six on the homepage are the ones a reader asks before booking. These are the ones that come up afterwards: the state schemes, sizing, the hardware, and who signs off the connection. Every figure on this page is composed from one rates file and carries the date it was read.
What help is there with the cost of a battery in the ACT?
In the ACT the Sustainable Household Scheme is a loan rather than a rebate. It is worth having, and it is not free money.
Up to $20,000 for new applicants from 1 July 2026, at 3% interest over up to 10 years. Households already in the scheme stay on the earlier $15,000 cap.
The federal discount comes off the price at the point of sale. The ACT loan can then finance what is left to pay.
There is no ACT battery cash rebate at all. Next Generation Energy Storage closed, with final installs due by March 2023, and anything you read presenting it as open is out of date.

What help is there in NSW?
Different from the ACT, and the ACT schemes do not reach you. The federal discount does. That one is national and it works the same either side of the border.
Home Energy Saver: up to $15,000 at 0% interest, for households under a $210,000 income test.
A low-income discount has been announced on top of that loan and is not open yet. We will not put it in a price until it is.

What size battery do I need?
It comes out of your bill. What matters is how many kilowatt-hours you use after the sun goes down, and how much your roof has spare to charge with during the day.
A battery bigger than your evening is capacity that never cycles. One smaller leaves you buying at the worst rate of the day.
There is a money reason not to oversize as well. The federal discount is tiered by usable capacity. the first 14 kWh of usable capacity counts in full, the next 14 kWh at 60%, anything above 28 kWh at 15%. So the last few kilowatt-hours of a very large battery are close to full price.
We size off twelve months of meter data where you have it, and off the switchboard and the roof where you do not.

Which batteries do you fit?
Mostly Tesla Powerwall. We have been a Premium Tesla Powerwall Certified Installer since 2021. We also fit Enphase and GoodWe.
Which one suits comes out of the switchboard, the roof and what the house does after dark. Which brand we would rather sell does not come into it. We fit a small number of products we know properly, and that is most of the reason an install goes the way we said it would.

Who approves the grid connection?
Evoenergy, the ACT distributor, and the application is ours to lodge. Their default export limit for a home is 10 kVA. That caps what you push back to the grid. It does not cap what your roof makes or what the house uses.
A system above it is an application to Evoenergy. It is not an automatic no.
Evoenergy publishes no connection timeframe, so we will not quote you one. What we will do is tell you where your application is up to whenever you ask.
That is the ACT. In NSW your distributor is a different business with its own limits, and none of the above applies to you.

Do I have to decide on the day?
No. There is nothing to sign at the visit, and the design and the price come to you in writing afterwards.
