Powerwall 3 launch in Australia!

In August, Michael and Richard from Sunstak attended the official launch of Tesla’s Powerwall 3 in Sydney, marking a significant moment in renewable energy advancements. A highlight was witnessing the Powerwall 3 submerged in a fish tank, showcasing its impressive waterproofing and durability. Michael also had the opportunity to meet Robyn Denholm, Tesla’s chairwoman, she thanked Michael for doing a great job moving australia towards a sustainable future.

The event was a reunion with friends and colleagues from the renewables industry, fostering valuable connections. Michael and Richard were excited to see the latest energy demo app in action, noting that some of their suggestions to Tesla’s software team in California had been implemented into the live app. The experience reinforced their commitment to pushing the boundaries of renewable energy solutions.

Co-host Powerwall 3 launch in ACT

Sunstak was honoured to be part of the Tesla Energy Tech Talk event in Canberra, being selected from other Premium Installers to be the first to run such an event in the ACT. This opportunity not only validated Tesla’s confidence in Sunstak but also generated a significant number of leads, highlighting why Canberra is a great place for people willing to invest in renewables.

Delegation from Laos Government meets Sunstak

Sunstak recently hosted a delegation from Laos’ Ministry of Energy and Mining and Électricité du Laos, arranged through a connection at the Australian National University. Recognised for its reputable work in solar and battery renewables, Sunstak showcased its facilities and solar energy modelling software. The delegates admired the software’s potential benefits for Laos, offering inspiring feedback to the Sunstak team.

In collaboration with Tesla, Sunstak organised a visit to Tesla’s Hume delivery centre, where the delegates experienced rides in electric vehicles like the Model 3, gaining first-hand insight into advancements in electric vehicle technology.

To share local culture, the delegates dined at Snapper & Co by Lake Burley Griffin and visited the Thai Temple in Lyneham, discussing renewable energy’s community impact with the Abbot.

The visit concluded at EY’s headquarters with presentations from the Australian Energy Market Operator and CSIRO, providing insights into Australia’s energy grid and its governance.

ANU Guest Lecture: Businesses role in Urban Systems

We had a great time presenting to a group of master’s students at ANU! It was wonderful to discuss Canberra’s energy transition alongside Alex Killeen from the ACT Government and Sarah Reid from Electrify Canberra. Michael and Richard were thrilled to share our insights into how businesses can drive the decentralisation of energy systems and support a sustainable urban future.
