Heating your home effectively during the cooler months in Canberra!

1. Thermostats: Schedule heating cycles based on peak solar production hours (from 10am for most solar systems). Increase the temperature during the day when solar energy is abundant to build thermal mass and lower it when solar production decreases towards the evening.

2. Daytime Heating: Take advantage of peak solar production by running heating systems during the day.

3. Zone Heating: Utilise zone heating to concentrate warmth in occupied areas during the day, such as the living room and home office. Close doors to unused rooms to conserve heat.

4. Passive Solar Heating: Make the most of passive solar heating by keeping curtains and blinds open during the day to allow sunlight in. Close them at night to retain heat.
